Well friends, ChatGPT - Round 3! In part 1 and 2 we discussed the “Use cases for tech recruiting" and "The top 5 current ChatGPT recruiting methods". So it's time to take another look at what's been happening in the AI world. Because here the news outstrips each other on a daily basis, as this technology development feels like it is developing exponentially (it probably is).
Two monumental changes have been made. ChatGPT Enterprise and moreover ChatGPT can now see, hear and speak. The latter sounds phenomenal at first, but the game changer is the dry-sounding Enterprise option when it comes to recruiting. Which is obvious. Nevertheless, we also benefit from the "consumer" innovations ... and personally I have to say, it is a bit of fun to chat with ChatGPT via mobile phone without having to look at a screen - try it out for yourself! 🙂
Let's first take a look at the advanced GPT-4 functions. These functions are only available for Plus users. The web search (via Bing) and plug-ins have been available for quite some time. New since September is the integration of DALL-E 3 - and thus the processing and generation of images. The previous feature "Code Interpreter" has been renamed "Advanced Data Analysis". No upgrade here. Nevertheless, next to the enterprise functionality, this feature is most interesting for recruiting. We are not yet in a reality where we upload profile pictures and characteristics are derived from facial features.
Unsurprisingly, ChatGPT Enterprise sounds the most promising for recruiting and HR activities. But ChatGPT Plus also promises some advantages - so let's look at these in detail:
As you know, you should never feed AI models with sensitive data such as personal or company data. Enterprise is there to help you and protect your data. But as The Register points out here, much of this also applies to ChatGPT Plus. All conversations with ChatGPT are encrypted in transit, regardless of which product you use. Big businesses are likely to go for Enterprise as it comes with a few more benefits, which we'll come back to in a moment. Price-wise, OpenAI doesn't specify – meaning it will come down to scale. Plus is manageable at $20 USD. Smaller companies can anonymise their data at this point to benefit from the "Advanced Data Analysis" feature.
Let's look at the other advantages of Enterprise. It's about speed and the volume of context that ChatGPT can handle. OpenAI states that up to 4x longer inputs & conversations are possible with 32k "context windows" - so really long and complex inputs (prompts) are possible. The speed is also supposed to double. And then it is no longer capped - plus users are limited to 50 requests per 3 hours. For recruiting, this means:
However, SMEs don't have to be left out in the cold when it comes to context with ChatGPT Plus, because there are plenty of creative ways to expand the regular context window. One way, for example, is via the API - so it's a piece of cake for IT companies like you.
Even if we don't do profile picture analysis, we can use the new picture functionality of ChatGPT 4.
And it is not only the interviews that can be increasingly personalised.
Here too, the enterprise version, which can be fed both sensitive and larger data volumes as a feedback loop, shines without any concerns about data protection.
Finally, let's devote our full attention to the security aspect. When it comes to security, all products receive AES-256 data encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+). OpenAI further says about ChatGPT Enterprise, you control how long your data is stored and that they don't train on your ChatGPT Enterprise or API platform data. So seems that by using the API you get a privacy loophole. However, in the product table you can only find this feature in Enterprise (see Fig. 2). Therefore, the following advantage applies with certainty only to the Enterprise option:
Overall, we are moving further down the path of greater engagement through AI, which allows HR professionals to focus on more strategic and interpersonal aspects of their roles.
