What does an iOS developer do?

What does an iOS developer need to be able to do?

No formal training is required to become an iOS developer. Apple iOS developers are often trained software developers or web designers who have undergone further training. As in all other IT professions, there are many career changers. Basically, iOS developers need an understanding of both programming and software architecture.

For programming, mastery of Swift (or Objective C for older apps), HTML, CSS and object-oriented programming is necessary. In addition, knowledge of mobile cross-platforms such as AMP and agile development methods is helpful. In terms of design, mobile app developers should be able to implement graphical user interfaces. They should also be familiar with common development principles such as Responsive Development and Mobile First.
